strengthen partnerships and explore future collaboration under the SEA-Teacher Programme.

The SEAMEO Secretariat is pleased to announce that the upcoming SEA-Teacher Programme Evaluation Meeting (11th Cohort) will be convened together with the Southeast Asia Conference on Pre-Service Teacher Education: Advancing Policy, Research, and Regional Collaboration in Teacher Education on 20–21 October 2026 at Philippine Normal University, Manila, the Philippines.
This important regional gathering will bring together participating universities, prospective institutions, Teacher Education Councils, Ministries of Education, and key partners across Southeast Asia to reflect on the progress and future direction of pre-service teacher education in the region. Building on the experiences and evidence from the 11th Cohort of the SEA-Teacher Programme, the meeting will provide a valuable platform to review programme outcomes, identify effective practices, address areas for improvement, and strengthen the design and implementation of future exchanges.
Beyond the programme evaluation, the conference will open meaningful conversations on emerging policy and research issues shaping teacher education in Southeast Asia. Participants will have the opportunity to explore how the SEA-Teacher Programme can serve not only as a student teacher exchange platform, but also as a regional mechanism for policy learning, educational innovation, and evidence generation. Through dialogue and collaboration, the meeting aims to identify shared regional priorities for enhancing teacher preparation, practicum experiences, teacher educator development, and cross-border cooperation among teacher education institutions.
The SEAMEO Secretariat warmly encourages institutions in the SEA-Teacher Network, as well as universities interested in becoming part of this growing regional initiative, to take part in this on-site meeting and contribute to shaping the future of teacher education in Southeast Asia.
