NEW SEA-Teacher Platform and B10 Orientation

Attention SEA-Teacher family! We are ecstatic to finally announce the arrival of our brand new SEA-Teacher platform!

New Guidebook in the Form of a Website

You can conveniently access the platform through the same link as the old SEA-Teacher website: https://seateacher.seameo.org/

On it, you can find instructions on the mechanism of participating in B10 as well as links to the forms required. Simply put, treat this website as your new guidebook!

Many of you, especially the new SEA-Teacher participants, are likely still in the beginning stages of identifying the student participants. In the past, the SEA-Teacher guidebook would instruct you to identify a partner institution to conduct an exchange with and then fill out at least four different forms for the students’ selection process, including the Student Information Form, the Bio Data Form, and the Student Placement Form.

With the new platform, notice there is a Google Docs-based Student Information Form in place of all those aforementioned forms. This new form is automated for convenience, meaning you will not need to keep filling out the same information over and over. This new form is also a one-stop center for the sending and receiving institutions to conduct the students’ selection process.

Such automation and convenience are what we strive for to present to you throughout your participation in SEA-Teacher. The new website would also allow us to make any update to you instantly and directly.

Please note, however, as with any other digital platform, we plan to improve along the way. Steps beyond the students’ selection process will still use the same forms as they were in past batches. For instance, the Performance Evaluation Form will be downloadable in the new website but will work as they were in the past. Our team needs some time to develop a more automated process for these later steps. Please stay tuned.

If any of you have used the older forms and followed the older processes in selecting the students, do not worry. You can simply email us the forms you had filled out as you would do in the past. You can then utilize this website for the next steps in the process.

But wait, there’s more … 😀👍

Forum for sharing Information

Exclusively for B10 institutions, there is a “Find partnership” link in the dropdown menu under “B10 Institutions” on the website. This link will take you to a forum on the SEA-VET website. B10 institutions will receive an email for joining this forum. The forum can be used as a sort of social media profile for your institution to share various information, such as how many students are you looking to send, how many are you looking to receive, what is your exchange time period, etc. You can also update any of this information at any time. The forum can also be used, obviously, as a forum. In the SEA-Teacher B10 group, you will be able to ask questions and respond to the rest of B10 participants. You can certainly seek matching partner institutions here.

Confused? Me too when I first learnt all of these from my team.

SEA-Teacher B10 Orientation

We have therefore prepared two orientation sessions to help you learn about this newer process and platform for participating in SEA-Teacher. This orientation would also be particularly useful for new SEA-Teacher participants that are trying to figure out what they should do and what the next steps should be. Here is the schedule, time indicated are all GMT+7 (shared by Bangkok, Vietnam, and WIB):

  • SEA-Teacher B10 Orientation 1 – Friday, 27 September 2024, 2-3pm.
  • SEA-Teacher B10 Orientation 2 – Wednesday, 9 October 2024, 9-10am.

Please choose any schedule that works for you. We will share the WebEX links a little later. You are allowed to join even if you are not part of B10, so that you can see how the new process works if you plan to join in subsequent batch(es).

We will add more dates if we see the need.

Thank you and, as always, contact us through the SEA-Teacher Assistant or via email to seateacher@seameo.org if you have any question(s).
